It is difficult to talk about oneself, of course, especially since I am not a literary or film critic, but I try to write something useful (I hope so).<\/p>\n On genres. It seems to me that a clear division into genres within art has outlived its usefulness, this is especially true for contemporary artistic practices. There are many works that do not fit into a strictly specific genre system, but balance on the verge of many genres.<\/p>\n For example, I am also interested in video games as an art form and Machinima (video based on games or game engines). And these videos are similar to cinema, to animation, to video art, and so on. And there is no the only one correct answer. So, I would not (and I don\u2019t know how) clearly define my videos (I don\u2019t remember that I clearly indicated them as \u201cmovie poetry\u201d anywhere), but I\u2019m not against a variety of definitions and interpretations.<\/p>\n The same thing with my texts (prose, poetry?). If take into account a freer, \u201cartistic\u201d analysis, then I would say that my texts and visual works are a transformation (amplification \/ expansion) of a certain \u201cinner narrative\u201d that expresses itself in different modalities. Therefore, in terms of spatial metaphors, the places-topos, \u201clocations\u201d (a garden, a palace, a stage ..) are very important for me. These speculative and, of course, important, perhaps only for me, spaces are expanded in the texts, videos, photos.<\/p>\n The meditative state that you mentioned is also very interesting to me. For example, in 2016, my friend and composer Ivan Abramov and I made an audio-visual installation \u201cThe Suspended Garden. The session of media-hypnosis \u201d, one of the goals of which was to immerse the spectators into a certain contemplative, trance like state. This feeling can be more or less articulated and understandable, and involves different degrees of distance. In this case, strictly following the text of the video (or vice versa) is not necessary and is not my goal. The most interesting things for me are inconsistencies, gaps, strangeness and rhythm interruptions (as in poetry).<\/p>\n I can not say what in this case is primary. I have been writing texts since childhood, I have started videos recently. Perhaps the text for me so far is the most universal \u201ctool\u201d, but I am increasingly thinking about the possibilities of space and body, augmented reality and virtual reality.<\/p>\n Now I am trying to finish the video work about water, I already have a lot of footage, but the finished form of the work has not yet taken shape. Water is a well-known reality to all of us, but also a pure virtuality – not in a digital sense, but in the meaning of a multitude of possibilities, refractions, reflections and images.
