The Pacific Research Paradigm. Opportunities and Challenges
This article traces the emergence of a Pacific research paradigm and outlines key approaches developed within Pacific and Pasifika communities, which are gaining attention in Australia and New Zealand. It offers a socio-historical account, assesses current opportunities and challenges, and critiques aspects of the paradigm’s development. The authors argue that sustained researcher reflexivity and dialogue are essential to produce research in which Pacific communities recognize themselves and their aspirations.
