With “research” we address different ways of knowledge production. These are often defined in Western terms. In these terms, we lay a focus on qualitative social science research, which is our expertise. We have also included some projects involving quantitative approaches. In Indigenous non-Western terms, knolwedge may also be produced differently, following methodologies and applying methods locally rooted. Sometimes, researchers or research partners combine these two broad strands in a mixed methodologies and mixed methods approach. There are challenges or even dangers for non-Indigenous researchers to do so on there own.
