Pacific Youth: Local and Global Futures

Pacific Youth: Local and Global Futures

This project was conducted by the Australian National University (ANU), and aside from that it is a part of the Association for Social Anthropology in Oceania (ASAO): The project Pacific Youth: Local and Global Futures explores the lives of young people in Oceania, focusing on their challenges and opportunities both locally and globally. It highlights the diversity and potential of youth in the region, thereby challenging common assumptions about social issues. The project is collaborative, as it brings together researchers from various disciplines and regions and incorporates Indigenous perspectives to foster a broad, interdisciplinary discussion. The project includes multiple anthropological case studies located in places all over the Pacific such as Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea, the Kingdom of Tonga, Fiji, Samoa, the Republic of the Marshall Islands and Australia.
