Kalissa Alexeyeff

Kalissa Alexeyeff is an Associate Professor in Gender Studies with training in critical theory and anthropology. Her research examines the intersections of culture and global change through dance, performance, embodiment, kinship, and labour mobility, engaging with broader debates on gender, sexuality, neoliberalism, and justice. She is the author of Dancing from the Heart: Movement, Gender and Cook Islands Globalization (2009) and co-editor of several volumes, including Gender on the Edge (2014) and Touring Pacific Cultures (2016), as well as special issues on paradise, neocolonialism, and fashion in the Pacific. She has also been part of the Invisible Mothers project, which investigates health inequalities and wellbeing among young Pasifika women in Australia.
