John P. Rosa
John Rosa is an associate professor in the Department of History at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, specializing in the history of modern Hawaiʻi. His teaching also includes U.S. history and a senior thesis writing seminar. Before joining UH Mānoa, he held academic positions in Asian Pacific American Studies at Arizona State University (2000–2006) and Loyola Marymount University (1998–1999), and taught Advanced Placement U.S. History at Kamehameha Schools, Kapālama (2006–2008). His research focuses on twentieth-century Hawaiʻi, Asian American and Pacific Islander histories in the United States, and topics such as “local” identity and mixed-race studies.
