Doris Bacalzo

“Doris Bacalzo is a cultural anthropologist and research associate at the University of Lucerne’s Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology. Her academic journey began with a background in biology, followed by an M.A. in Anthropology from the University of the Philippines. Her master’s research focused on the customary law, gender relations, and indigenous women’s roles within a Mangyan community in Mindoro, Philippines. She earned her Ph.D. in Anthropology from the University of Lucerne in 2016, with a dissertation examining the socialization of children from interethnic marriages among the Wampar people in Papua New Guinea, exploring themes of kinship, identity, and transcultural belonging.”
