“Cultural Anthropology staff at Victoria University of Wellington have diverse expertise reflected in their teaching and research. Their work addresses topics such as forest regeneration in times of ecological transition, the intersections of migration and food, and the relationship between politics and urban infrastructure in Bangkok. Other areas of study include education and community development, the impact of migration on academic life, ethics in rural Andean economies, the cultural significance of toheroa for Māori, traditional and contemporary resource management of kaimoana, and social and relational perspectives on well-being and distress.”
