American Studies at the University of Hawaiʻi is an interdisciplinary field that examines the histories, cultures, and peoples of the United States and its territories in a transnational context. With a distinctive location in the Pacific, the program emphasizes Indigenous Studies and U.S. relations with Asia and the Pacific, while also addressing issues of race, ethnicity, gender, class, sexuality, and immigration.
