Professor Cathy Vaughan is Director of the Nossal Institute for Global Health and Chair of Global Health at the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health, University of Melbourne. With over 25 years of experience in Asia, the Pacific, and Australia, her research focuses on how intersecting inequalities shape health outcomes, particularly in relation to gender-based violence and responses to it. She has extensive expertise in participatory and co-design research methods, working with migrant and refugee women, women with disabilities, faith communities, and young people to inform health programs and policies. In addition to her teaching and leadership roles, she was also part of the Invisible Mothers project, which explored health inequalities and wellbeing among young Pasifika women in Australia.
