Dixon Holland Wia
Dixon Wia Holland served as cameraman, producer, scriptwriter, narrator, assistant editor, and voyaging crew member for the Vaka Taumako Project from 1996 to 2018. He crewed on the project’s first voyage in 1998, where he met his future wife, Emily, on Nifiloli Island; they now have five children. Dixon developed strong videography skills, receiving initial training in Hawai‘i in 1999 from Larry Williamson of the Pacific Traditions Society. He later worked closely with VTP media lead Jacob Penchansky and contributed translations of 2012–2013 recordings. Holland also assisted BBC videographer Wade Fairley and served as narrator and assistant editor for the first two We, the Voyagers films. Though he is no longer filming, his contributions remain a valued part of the VTP legacy.
