Dr. phil. Thorolf Lipp is a cultural anthropologist and media producer. He earned his doctorate in anthropology and religious studies from the University of Bayreuth. His teaching in cultural and media anthropology has taken him to universities in Münster, Göttingen, Vienna, Berlin, Mainz, Friedrichshafen (Zeppelin University), Suva (Fiji), and Johannesburg. In the winter semester of 2011–2012, he was appointed to the prestigious Gutenberg Guest Professorship at the University of Mainz. His areas of expertise include media, art, religion, and intangible cultural heritage.
