“The CREDO occupies a central position in France and Europe in the field of social sciences research (anthropology, archaeology, history, linguistics) focusing on the Oceanian region. Its dual affiliation with Aix-Marseille University and the School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences (EHESS) makes it the main hub for research training in the social and human sciences on this part of the world in France. As part of the Maison Asie-Pacifique (MAP), the unit also contributes to the management of this joint research service. In this capacity, it oversees the largest European documentary collection on the Pacific region.”
