Nach dem \u00e4lteren Verfahren wird das Bild aus Glasst\u00fccken, die in der Masse gef\u00e4rbt sind, mittels Bleiruten mosaikartig zusammengesetzt. Bei der musivischen Glasmalerei geben die Bleiruten zugleich die Hauptkonturen an. F\u00fcr die feinere Zeichnung ist das Schwarzlot da, ein Bleiglas, das sich leicht aufschmelzen l\u00e4sst und aus dem dann die Binnenzeichnung herausgekratzt wird.
