The work I did in Artigas aroused the interest of several reporters working in radio and television. Why would someone from so far away be interested in «the last department… the forgotten department of Uruguay»? I tried my best to explain my linguistic interest and aims in the department, emphasizing the value of studying a border variety that many speakers still speak.
