Er stammt aus Thrakien in Nordgriechenland \u2013 der Heimat des ber\u00fchmten griechischen Philosophen Demokrit (460\u2013370 v. Chr.). Sowohl in der griechischen als auch in der r\u00f6mischen Philosophie kennt Lysimedes sich bestens aus.
